The Last Prisoner Project
The Last Prisoner Project, utilizes a three-pronged approach to securing full freedom for the communities they serve. Through intervention, advocacy, and awareness campaigns the Last Prisoner Project works to redress the past and continuing harms of these unjust laws and policies. As the United States moves away from the criminalization of cannabis, giving rise to a major new industry, there remains the fundamental injustice inflicted upon those who have suffered criminal convictions and the consequences of those convictions. The third iteration of Deep Tropics’ boutique festival returns to Music City on August 27-28, 2021. It is a carefully curated, music, art, & style experience at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville's beloved Germantown neighborhood.
Deep Tropics is produced by forward-thinking, dance music enthusiasts at Full Circle Presents. The creative site and stage design is led by art director, Aaron Martin and will take the energy to stratospheric levels. The one-of-a-kind amphitheater in the park ensures every viewpoint is perfect with a beautiful downtown skyline view in the backdrop. It will host a massive, ancient temple inspired stage in collaboration with 44 Designs. Intricate lasers, choreographed LED, moving lights, and art installs will illuminate the park. The venue is less than a mile from auxiliary party locations, downtown Nashville, and some of the city’s coolest districts. Deep Tropics has created an entire program of off-site pre-parties, late nights, workshops and opportunities to connect in intimate settings throughout the weekend.
Deep Tropics’ mission is to be the greenest festival in the United States. To support these goals we launched a non-profit organization called Deep Culture, which exists to curate experiences that activate transformation of self, community, and planet. We are going beyond Carbon Neutral to become a Net Positive energy and water event. This simply means we create more energy (and water) than we use. Many of Deep Tropics’ art projects are created from sustainable materials such as hempcrete & aircrete. Additionally, Deep Tropics has a zero waste initiative to ensure everything is either recyclable, compostable, or re-usable. Regenerative design is at the forefront of every aspect of the festival.

As Canvast emerges into the Nashville scene, we wanted to take a grass-roots and more experiential approach to events! We’ve committed to bringing you EXPERIENCES, that fully embrace our mission of “Elevating Every Experience” with both our products we offer and the community we’re building as our company grows.
As lovers of the outdoors, and summer begins to slip away, we’re saying farewell to this hot hot heat and ringing in the Summer Equinox with our event Kayak for Clarity. This event features a moment of meditation and with the help of a few Shifters™ Delta-8 Gummies ;) to help get you in the right headspace. Ready to join us on Friday, September 24th at 4pm?
1. Reduce stress Spending time outdoors and getting fresh air can help reduce stress. While stress is a huge factor in maintaining mental fitness, it is also associated with various illnesses and exacerbate any existing medical condition you may have. Hence, one of the goals to being physically and mentally healthy is to reduce stress. Just like how any physical exercise helps to reduce stress, kayaking provides you with the same stress-relieving benefit.
2. Increase happiness Being in the midst of nature is not just enjoyable, it can make you kinder, happier, and more creative. Since kayaking is done outdoors, it is an ideal activity if you want to be happy by spending time outdoors. Aside from nature’s effect on your mood, aerobic exercises like kayaking increase the release of certain chemicals, such as endorphins, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, in the brain. These neurotransmitters, especially endorphins, help regulate one’s mood, making them feel happier, and can also uplift people’s confidence. Due to this effect, kayaking and exercise, in general, are encouraged in people who are undergoing depression. In short, it is a sport that can improve your overall mental health and well-being. You may also want to consider clear bottom kayaks, depending on how clear the waters are in your area and whether you love seeing lots of beautiful fish.
3. Improve focus This advantage of kayaking is again very closely related to the past three mental health benefits. Dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin are neurotransmitters that will improve one’s focus and attention. While you exercise by kayaking, these chemicals are released in the brain. You can spend a few hours a week focusing on this sport and these times can serve as a mental break from problems or challenges you may be facing. Breaks like these allow you to get right back to it afterwards with more focus and motivation. Doing so will surely increase your chances of finding the right solutions.
4. Enhance memory Being more active and exercising regularly can help improve your memory and thinking skills. Aerobic exercises, unlike resistance training and muscle toning exercises, can increase the size of the hippocampus, which is the specific portion of the brain that is responsible for learning and verbal memory. Kayaking is a type of aerobic exercise and performing it consistently will stimulate the growth of new blood vessels in your brain and raise the total number of new brain cells. Overall, it can significantly help the brain stay healthy.
5. Improve the quality of sleep Exercising during the day will make you feel exhausted and will help you fall asleep much faster than when you do nothing the entire day. Also, expending all the energy you have can help you stay in deep sleep longer, improving your sleep quality throughout the night.
6. Provide time for bonding and socializing Kayaking doesn’t entail any complicated instructions or concepts, making it easy for anyone to start learning. You can ask any of your family members or friends to join you so that you can share a more memorable and enjoyable experience together. No matter how busy you are at work during the weekdays, it is best to allocate some time to socialize and bond, especially with your family. During this time of Covid-19, this is a great way to reduce the anxiety of gatherings while facilitating experiences outdoors and getting to connect in an open space. If you have no one to enjoy this activity with, you may find kayakers’ organizations or clubs. Joining one of these clubs is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and widen your circle of friends.
7. Allow time for reflection While spending time with other people is good for you, it is just as important to find time to reflect and reconnect with yourself. If you are looking for a sport you can enjoy by yourself, kayaking is one that can be easily done solo. You can do some of your explorations without bringing anyone and spend it focusing on yourself. If you like to mediate, being in nature can provide you with the perfect setting.
